Hi again Doug,

I can not believe eleven transmission rebuilds and niether can a friend who is in the transmission business. Auto Subarus and in particular the turbo models do not have a good name here but the specialists have them sorted and would hang their heads in shame at such a record in respect of rebuilds. His comment " there is no way they can be doing a good job and must only throw in parts without diagnosing and fixing the faults." When he rebuilds he knows it is better than new because small mods go a long way to ensure the original problem is less likely to return.

I have had a external cooler installed at a very reasonable price and everything is as good as original manf. and is hard to detect as an add on. What is more they will not fit an external filter based on experience and often remove them from later models which have them. They are able to explain their reasons backed up with results and experience and I agree with their logic. He tells me most Taxis ( all makes ) have a cooler fitted as a matter of course to cope with stop start city running and he stresses with all his customers to hold third in traffic and at city speeds, which is of course vital with the SVX as many posts have tried to explain.

Trevor.
