You never know how much of the crap you read online you can believe but the impression I get is that people consider Deka to be better than Johnson Controls and Exide to be flat out crap. There are other options for deep cycle batteries which I guess are the Ferraris of batteries like "Trojans" but they are pretty "hard" to find.
If I can't find a PA person who comes up this way often, I will buy the Diehard which is a Deka. I actually have two in parallel so I can run the pump continuously for 16-18 hours in case we are out of town and we lose power and water is coming into the basement.
