well, to my understanding the different knock index ratings are because of different measurements. MON and RON are used in different places, but in the us, its an average of the two? i know that 87 here(US) is equivelant to 90-91 overseas. that im sure of. i did a short report on it in school. but that was in 9th grade. 9 years ago.
