That sounds correct,I will be replacing several wires this weekend,I have the low beam working but with power from the drivers low beam,I disconnected the power side and tapped into the driver side for power,light came on.What I understand from what you are saying is all I have to do is to leave the power wire connected and run another ground to the body or somewhere.
