An idle observation on transmission cooling

Trivial information:

Yesterday morning, silver SVX, stock ATF cooling, ambient temperature 16 degrees F, no warmup, no traffic. En route to work, I made a mental note of where the transmission warmed-up enough to attain fourth gear.

This morning, teal SVX, ATF cooling through a Hayden Automotive cooler plumbed in series ahead of the radiator cooler, ambient temp 13, no warmup, same route and approximate speed, no traffic, the shift to fourth occurred in virtually the same spot.

Clearly, having an auxiliary cooler rigged this way allows the radiator to serve as an effective "ATF warmer" in cold weather.
