I've been offered the gearbox on the P reg car for £380, which I've decided to go for - this comes with a 60-day warranty.

My local garage, a 4wd specialist, who have some experience with Subarus, have quoted £280 to swap out the two boxes, and will give me a six month warranty on the work with that.

Including some margin of error means I should be able to get my car back on the road for approx £720 (much more affordable than the £1200 + VAT I've been quoted).

What I was going to ask was, is it worth fitting an extra transmission cooler? (Thanks for the advice Phil), where could I source one? and how much do they cost?
