One thing I might add though is how much is it to replace the whole 1/2 shaft? There are two joints the CV and a DOJ. If one goes the other one typically isn't so far behind. I might aske them to take another look and advise on replacing the whole axle. This actually is a little easier that replacing the boot and joint.
