Re: Advice Needed - Living in America

well, I can definitly say stay away from California. The local government has their handes in everything and everything is expensive as crap. I moved to San diego, CA from Las Vegas, Nevada. Living in Las vegas, I had extra money to blow in the Casinos gambling. Here, I got an $800 pay increase, but I'm lucky if I have enough gas money to make it to work all week. I stopped driving my car and now drive my motorcycle all the time because it cuts my full bill in have. Gas prices here are 20 cents more per gallon, milk costs about a dollar more a gallon, my rent is $900 a month more, all my utilities are about 10% higher here. About the only thing that went down was my insurance rate, which makes no sence to me because it is estimated that 48% of the drivers on the road here are uninsured.

Arizona or New Mexico might be good. East Coast wise, anything south of Virginia, along the coast has to deal with Hurricanes regularly. North of Virginia the Hurricanes are rarer, but you get to deal with snow in the winter. Maybe Tennisee might be good, but I don't know about the cost. Delaware is popular with large corperations for tax purposes.
