We all did drive too fast in our youth. Hell, I ride bikes, and at 140 you might be changing up to top gear, and you might not, depending what bike.

It is a sin against society to be doing 140 where there is traffic. It is a worse sin altogether to be doing it and get caught by the police or get stopped by an accident.

If he was watching what he was doing he would not have got caught, so it shows lack of care and attention.

No room for mistakes at that speed, he deserves to have the book thrown at him.
