Optima's are the only batteries i know of, that is until the above post, that are sealed so that the battery fumes don't enter your cabin, and since they are lethal, not a good idea. I am not entirely sure on this, but i believe that it is hydrogen that is released, and is potentially dangerous. With the optima or other sealed batteries however, you do not have to worry about this, or the possiblility of battery acid spilling out if the battery falls over.
