That would be your torque converter locking up There is a lowering in the RPM equal to approximately 300 - 500 revs. Notice that this usually happens at about 50mph, and that when you apply light throttle you still accelerate without seeing a change in RPMs. Apply liberal throttle, and the TC either unlocks or the tranny downshifts to third.
