Hitting the gas in RWD during a PITT would be a bad idea. You would lose speed, due to the rear end already losing traction. Then you'd be in some severe oversteer from being pushed. To counteract a PITT in RWD you'd have to steer away from the cop before hitting the gas.
Best not to run in the first place. That said, if you do, go faster than 120mph. Most modern cop cars run out of steam about there. The SUV's are governed to 110mph. Of course so are most average modern cars. Hi-Po specials excepted
In AWD by all means, accelerate out of a PITT.
