When a friend and I were asking about a Vr4 at a car dealership once, the dealer joking asked "Hey - you gonna pay cash?" and my friend replied "If thats what you want."

The dealer stared for a second and said "What are you, drug dealers?"

"No, we're programmers."

And all was clear ... they actually believed I could give them $17k if requested... of course, that was back in the pre-dot-bomb days, when people actually believed that any seemingly techno-savy teen could be making millions from their dotcom startup... sight.. I miss those days.

I am always amazed at how much stuff people I know manage to buy, some of them without jobs even ... credit is a dangerous thing...
