From what I've been told, the transmission in the SVX was updated throughout the 92-94 MY to help alleviate the over-heating that was common in the earlier 4EAT's.

I've also been told by a '97 owner, that the '96/'97 transmissions had the cooling lines within the transmission enlargened to prevent blockage and aid in better cooling.

newsvx who helped me do some work on my SVX this past weekend has a '97 which he AutoX's often as well as races at Summit Point - he hasn't installed an external tranny cooler and is still on the original tranny with 77K miles on the car with no issues whatsoever!!!
