I didn't see the mesh in any of those pictures but I guess it would show in a close up.
That cooler has a bend in the inlet and oulet pipes. The newer cooler does not. I looks like the inlet and outlet pies came out of the bottom of the radiator and not the side as on the newer one.
The inlet and outlet point straight out on the newer one.
The cooler looks about half the size of the newer one.
