Apparently he's not a good employee, he likes to hit people and call them names. This was the final incident that forced the BBC to fire him even if the co worker doesn't press charges.

Something about the guy, as funny and good a journalist as he is on the show, comes across as a complete a**, and probably deserved what happened to him. God knows how many stories have not seen the light of day from the production of Top Gear.
