Does anybody have any ideas on what sort of epoxy I could use to glue the tube into a sleeve etc.
The other possibility is to use a plumbing fitting with olives.
....Andy ! any thoughts ?

Try your friendly local plumbers merchants. They should have a repair bandage which is guaranteed to seal any leak permanently.
