Stereo equipment wiring is probably a pretty good guess.
Given the apparently common fuel leak I encountered on my car this spring, and its location in front of the left rear wheel, that might be my guess. You've got fuel leaking right next to brakes and exhaust.
Either way, it's a barcelona red car, and that makes it especially sad for me.
