I would gladly give up decapitater seat belts.
Changing over the auto belts would be a major task I think. There are electrical control boxes and wiring harnesses involved.
FWD is slower. The front end can't handle all the torque and keep the wheels going straight.
But that is just off the line up to about 30 or 40 mph.
