First off, if it is really a 92 LSi, your friend is getting ripped off
. No such thing was made in 92. On the other hand, if it is a 92 LS-L, your friend might be in a better luck. But If I were him, I'd check the car out first. Get the VIN and call SOA. (1800-SUBARU-3) and see if any major things were changed (tranny). They will have a record if it was a Suby Job. 7000 sounds a bit on the high side but then again, I have seen people selling 92s for 12k. Just make sure he check the tranny. Most would go south around 60-80k miles. But apart from that, go for it.
