****** ..SEE UPDATED HOTEL INFORMATION BY CLICKING HERE..******
Talked with the hotel this morning. Now that it is all over, there were only 26 rooms actually used for each night, out of the block of 50 rooms reserved for each night.
I am certain that no rooms were reserved outside the block, as the rate would have been different. Since we reserved a total of 100 for Reading 9,
I think that the same block of 60 rooms for each of the 3 days would be appropriate for Reading X. Thats a total reservation of 180 rooms.
...Reduced to 135 rooms There are also 10 rooms added for Sunday night for those who may need them.
Because of probable increased operating costs for utilities, etc., the agreed upon price for the rooms (either twin queens or the king suite) is $3.00 higher/night @
$78.00/night plus tax, or $86.58/night total.
This is way below the regular proposed 2009 room rate of 139.00/night.
I will be getting the new contract shortly. It will be essentially the same as last years.
Thursday night/ April 16
....50 rooms with two queen beds
... Reduced to 25 rooms
....10 rooms with one king bed
Friday night/ April 17
....50 rooms with two queen beds
... Reduced to 40 rooms
....10 rooms with one king bed
Saturday night/ April 18
....50 rooms with two queen beds
... Reduced to 40 rooms
....10 rooms with one king bed
OPTIONAL (For the die-hards)
Sunday night/ April 19
....5 rooms with two queen beds
...
....5 rooms with one king bed
Room Rate: $78.00/night plus tax, or $86.58/night total.
Reservation cutoff date for block rate: Monday, March 2, 2009
Cancellation: Before 6:00pm prior to date of arrival to avoid penalty. Is a no-show occurs on the scheduled arrival date, the first night will be charged to the credit card and all consecutive nights reserved will be canceled.
As usual, if you register early enough, we can always add to the block if we fill it up. Even if you
think you will possibly go, commit and book your rooms. You CC is NEVER charged until you check out so there is no worries there. Don't hold back and wait.
With all of the planning that has to be done, I want this part of the operation to go smoother that it ever has. The "Best Reading Yet" should have the best planning yet and the least complications of any previous meet.
Once the contract has been signed, returned and entered into the system, I will start a Reading TEN "Rooms Booked" thread. I want everyone who actually books a room at the hotel to add their name, screen name, number of nights reserved and confirmation number.
Once I post that thread, you will be free to call.
The number is 800-339-0264 or 610-286-3000
This will make it much easier for me (and the hotel) to keep track of where we are and what we may need. And all of the records in one place.
Please help me out on this one. I am getting tired of going to battle with the Rooms Monster every year.
