Mine also has the weird half throttle shift into 3rd that doesn't seem to be getting better or worse. Try unplugging the resistor behind the battery to see if that helps the shifting. It may not be a solution but maybe a bandaid until you can afford to do something about it.
How hard were you pushing your car, maybe your tranny is getting a little warm.
