Your battery had a bad connection to the rest of the car, and then, for whatever reason (e.g. heat, vibration, electrolytic action, pure blind chance, or whatever) the flakey connection remade itself.
You can bet your life that this is why you were having problems.
You need to find that bad connection and fix it now. Things that go away by themselves can come back by themselves too, and usually at the most inconvenient times.
Even if all the clamps and bolts are tight, you can still have a bad factory made crimped joints in the cable connections themselves.
