Not necessarily. Corporate "CARE" centers and "HELP" desks are products of a "softening" of the language for psychological perception purposes. Ever wonder why the WAR department is now the DEFENSE department? How 'bout PERSONNEL? It's now HUMAN RELATIONS. People used to have COMPLAINT departments. It's now CUSTOMER CARE. My favorite, of course, is the tri-evolution of LAY-OFF . . . which became DOWN SIZING until someone realized the word DOWN was "negative terminology." Then, it became RIGHT SIZING.
