BUILD PLATE (ON "B" PILLAR PASSENGER SIDE) - STATES "BUILT DEC 1994"
but the car was first registered (NZ New) in October 1995

There must have been a lot of SVXs sitting around in warehouses around FHI manufacturing site?.
Same up here.

I have a Black SVX registered in '93 and a Silver SVX registered in '95. Both registered in England, not Ireland initially. What's interesting about that is the vin code from the '95 is actually 5 digits lower than the number on the '93.

Now this is not mere co-incidence with both cars having closely similar numbers but different production years. No Siree, both VIN codes are the exact same, so are from the same production run in 1993. I'm sure at the high price they were listed SVXes sat in dealers' showrooms till the sales people were sick looking at them.

Stephen, just FYI:

Your colour code as listed above marks you car paint as being Brilliant Red sometimes known as Bright Red. So don't confuse it with Barcelona Red. Barcelona Red was introduced in '93 and is a darker red colour than yours.
