Why do you think the bypass valve is triggered at around 10K miles for a tranny filter?
Seems to me that the conditions and rationale for mileage based change of filters is quite different between motor oil and tranny fluid - blow-by gases, etc.
Please educate me, I may need to change filter types, i.e., summit
