I agree that the 92 supposed woodgrain is ugly, but every painted dash job I have seen is horrendous and absolutely looks just that---cheap paint.
I changed my driver 92 woodgrain for the much better 96 woodgrain and it looks great.
(Note to self-add a car to list of cars from here never to buy even if the opportunity comes up--
