They use the same housing as a Legacy/Liberty, Forester, some Impreza's, but in the US have a different gear ratio than most other Subarus, so would need to know what is currently in yours....

they should be a 3.70
which is why I asked what was bad. If the carrier is shot, he'll need one from an SVX. if it's the side load bearings or ring/pinion, there are quite a few more options.
