I flew down to Richmond Va to pick up my Teal 92 saturday.
Eric, SomethingElse here on SVXWN, drove the car down to pick me up.
I hopped in the car and promptly got us lost in downtown Richmond... yes, you may envy me... I have talent.
I myself am blaming it on ogling the car as I drove. Eventually we fought our way back out to I-95 and made it to his house.
After a little shop talk and topping off the air conditoner I got back on the road and headed north towards Mass.
I would like to say that I was comfortable enough with Eric from talking with him and from a previous transaction that I bought this car essentially sight unseen.
I saw a few pics and had my fiance, who is just getting into the car hobby... spurred by her own SVX purchace *92 Teal 5 speed* also purchased from Eric... check it out.
The car is all stock except for the outback transaxle.
I would like to say right now that I LOVE the gears. The around town snap with the 4.44s is great.
It is revving appx 3,000 at 70 mph... I was raised on hotrods with deep gear and no overdrive so 3K on the highway isn't even noticable for me.
*Don't Fear the Gear*
I drove up into Pa with no incidents other than a couple of guys in hondas that wanted to play on the interstate... and soon decided on easier pickings
.
After a short nap in a NY travel center I motored on into Holyoke Ma.
I spent sunday driving my fiance and mother around and showing them the area. Caryn reports that the back seat isn't bad... as long as the front seater gives her some legroom. I am 6'4" and 300 lbs... I will take her word for it.
Came out from dinner to find a coolata all over the car. I guess someone set it on the ground and it got ran over.
Ran it down to the car wash and cleaned her up.
Just stood there afterwards and admired the way the car looks.
Needless to say, I am VERY pleased with the newest member of the family.
Went from never owning one to two in the family in a couple of weeks.
I have no idea why people say these cars are addictive.
OK... this is enough typing on the phone... my thumbs are getting sore.
