More threads about the same thing means more dispersal of useful information, and more digging to have to be done, when a good share of those threads are either useless or don't have the information you're looking for. As well, they eat up the database, which is certainly more of a problem at NASIOC, where you can't search for words deemed "too common", such as "STi" and "wheels", God forbid you'd ever try to find a set.
Want proof that it can be problematic? Head on over to NASIOC and try to sort out what is considered to be the best CAI for a 2.5L N/A.
