Hey LokiDad and Loki that is a very nice write up.
It is a very nice fix.
I didn't know that the "hollow shaft" broke on some of the visors. Mine hasn't broken yet but I still had the "droop". I was able to fix my drooper by wrapping the "inside shaft" with electrical tape and then shoving it back in the hollow shaft. It has been working good enough for a few years now.

I guess I had just right amount of tape wrapped on the gray inside shaft. If not I might have broken the "hollow shaft" when I cramed the taped shaft back into the hole.

At any rate, It is a poor design that wears out......... unless the visor is never moved.
