thanks for all the help guys
i fixed it to day, took about 2 minutes to change, and about 15 minutes to find a socket that fit it.
but then it was smooth sailing, but now the car starts and runs good

but on my way home from a drive today apparently the sensor that senses when the glove box is closed broke, and the light is just on perpetually now
