I got it.
I decided to give that little grounding bracket a few whacks with my awesome hammer and it budged a bit back and forth, so I went back to the bolt and it let loose with a mighty creak.
(it looks to be made of half steel, half rust/corrosion)
Anyway, this is the thread letting everyone know I have started the 5 speed swap, even though someone forgot to include certain necessary parts in the freight that will cause another 1-2 week delay.
