As Tony says, official dealers are prevented from working on grey import vehicles by the terms and conditions of their dealership. International motors will remove the franchise of any dealer it finds servicing greys............
Most Subaru dealers send auto gearboxes to a guy in Glasgow for overhaul. There is a guy in Newark Notts we used to repair a Micra CVT who said he has done EAT type auto's before (used on Nissan 200/300ZX, Mazda etc) and would be considerably less than the £1600 the guy in Glasgow charges.
