I have NO IDEA what is wrong with mine, all I know is when you put it in gear, the engine RPM doesn't drop or anything. I had a Mercury Sable that I worked on for a friend that did the same thing, one of the one-way clutches was shot and wasn't holding like it should have and instead was freewheeling, which resulted it no power transfer to the wheels :-P But that was a Ford AXOD, I've never had a 4EAT apart (I rebuilt an M41, which is the 3 speed auto...)
I also need the engine cover if you have one, mine is missing :-(
