Re: Hot Start Issue, Starter Not Engaging - 5MT Swap

Are you using spade terminals on the Neutral Safety Switch? If so are they tight-fitting or do they just slide easily on and off? I replaced my starter relay because my car would often fail to start after my 5 speed swap. I would get one click then nothing, and would have to try anywhere from 1 to 20 times before it would start. The relay solved the issue...for a couple weeks. It didn't fail to start as often, probably only a handful of times really.

Well

When I had my dash out recently one of my spade terminals on my NSS slide off when I slightly touched it, so I gave both a squeeze with some pliers and forced them back on. Since I have done that my car has not failed to start once. Of course it is still a little early to tell if this has really work, since, as I said, it has failed to start only a handful of times since I installed the relay.
But so far so good, and easy enough to check if you don't mind the akward position laying on the drivers side floor.
