Air filter has something like 5k miles on it, but I live on a dirt road so I'll be changing that soon anyway. . . Idles fine around 800 RPM or so . . . spark plugs have 20k miles on them, I'm assuming the coils are fine as I have "the fear" about touching them at all, what with how expensive they are . . . Going to pick up a new fuel filter at work on Saturday and try to install it late next week.

I'm told by a friend of mine that I have to drop the rear transaxle and the gas tank in order to reach the fuel filter. This true?
