Looks like you do have the same issue. Was there gasket material in place when you took them apart?
Might want to move this thread to Technical Q&A forum. I thing you have an aftermarket Catalytic Converter.
The OEM (in my experience) have a countersink where the gasket fits in whereas the image in the 2006 thread you posted does not.
