I did it, but a new problem

Ok everyone, here is the deal. I JUST got done replacing my #2 knock sensor, which was the biggest pain in the ass ever, and took me 6 hours to do. I cleared the codes, started the car, no CEL! I was ecstatic! So I went cruising around and had alot more power and better acceleration, with no funny noises coming from under the hood. I cruised around for a minute, but the first stoplight I came to, my idle was really rough, and I was concerned about that, so I decided to come straight home. As soon as I pulled into the driveway, there was some smoke coming from the rear left of the engine (by left side, I mean at the front of the car, looking at the windhshield) What could I have possibly done to cause this? (the rough idle went away by the way) I cant imagine that I fixed one problem, and another immediately popped up, it must have been something I did in the course of the repair. I was playing with the throttle wires the other day, befroe I did the sensor replacement, could it be related to that, and now the fact that the ECU isnt setting a safe limit? Whatever it is, please give me some advice on what to check on here.

As a P.S., I just went out and started it again, let it idle for awhile, and no smoke. Then I revved the engine for awhile while in park, and still no smoke. Could this have been temporary, or maybe somethign burning off of somethign else? This is weird, to replace the snesor, I didnt even have to go on that side of the engine!
