Well, I got the TC off. I highly recommend the 4-piece pry bar set from Harbor Freight, on sale now for $7.99. The flex plate never broke, but I got it to bend enough to get the 2 side bolts out (bolts happened to be at 12, 3, 6, and 9-o'clock positions). I cut the top bolt with a hacksaw, and the bottom bolt was easily accessible through the missing access cover.
