Yeah, that's correct Lee, I did actually mention that in an earlier post.
Running the maths on it an acceptable touring mileage of 28 with the original 4EAT final drive will now deliver:
28/4.44 *3.54 = 22 mpg.
It's likely that the tendency of the 4EAT to seek higher gears when changing up [based on the internal mapping] will have the gearbox running at optimal torque all the while with the lower final drive, which will mitigate the consumption loss of gearing drop a little bit.
I'm just musing that Rebecca may have another factor adding to the increased consumption.
