I guess there are two issues here. The spacer plate is needed to provide clearance with the SVX mounting plate, and its needed to set the engine at the correct height. The Grp N mount does not compress as much as the OEM SVX mount, so it seems to me that a 1/8" or 1/4" thick spacer plate is most appropriate. If you went with the 3/8" thick plate, I don't know that this would eliminate the need to grind the OEM SVX mounting plate.

Again, we know the Grp N mounts can be made to work, so, if you want to make up a set of plate, I think the best bet is to figure out the details with a set of mounts in-hand. If Johnny wants Grp N mounts, then have Johnny send you a set of Grp N mounts and his OEM SVX mounts with the mounting plates.
