Looks like at least some '92s were like this (if not all). From the

Automatic Climate Control (PDF) has what seems to be a service port on the receiver—drier, but the drawing is small and not labeled.
Incidentally, the diagram on page 22 of that doc shows the expansion valve inside the dash. I'll bet that's fun to service. "Step 2 — Remove glove box."
The
A/C Compressor Servicing document (PDF) lists 28 different compressor/clutch configurations, so perhaps some '92s had different low-side port locations.
The entire A/C system diagrams appear to be missing from '92 and '93 MYs at SubaruParts.com.
