The scene with the brick and the ball, the guys face should be seen when he passes it in front of him. All you see is the sign behind the guy. I think they simply did a crappy green screen trick and they screwed it up.

I would imagine that the camera aimed at the bookcase is sitting behind the man playing with the ball and brick. That way it makes sense that the man's face and hands dissappear when the brick or ball is in the way.
Its a nifty camera trick; might be good for theme parks and such but I can't imagine any other practical application.
