There is always Nuclear Propulsion.6 year enlistment but the first year and a half is all school. I am a Nuclear Propulsion Machinist Mate on a submarine. Going on a six month deployment underwater in a steel tube with a few port calls to keep you sane isn't for everyone though. Luckily there are 18 months in between deployments. Advancement is good(I made E-5 in 2 years), reenlistment bonuses are even better(up to 90,000) and there are plenty of job opportunities if and when you decide to get out.
