Yes you can do that. The pump is grounded through a the pump's modulator under the rear deck. To eliminate all that, you can just find the ground wire at the pump and connect it to ground. The pump will then run at full flow all the time, won't worry anything.
The wires at the pump's connector are blue for power, and a yellow is ground. Ground the yellow wire.
