Yes well that makes more sense, Damian. The brake band is slipping bad. Try the band adjustment, if it is not too worn it may come good. Take it to the tranny shop get them to adjust it
In the mean time, use the gear lever to take off in 1st, then change to 3rd, miss 2nd and 4th completly to save whats left of the band.
