Not pathetic at all. I had a co-worker with the last name Ortiz. He lived his entire life in Indiana. He looked very hispanic. His name was very hispanic. His father was born in Mexico. He couldn't speak a word of Spanish, much to his chagrin when we went to Tijuana, during some free time from a job in San Diego.
(And, believe it or not, it was Halloween
