It's been a while
Six or so months has passed since I laid my 92 Ebony to rest. Since that time, I've been swapping between a 1982 Mazda Unspecified Truck (You know the one, the Mazda that says "Mazda" on the tailgate and has no real model) and a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer. I've been priviliged enough to get the keys to a 2005(?) Yukon Denali XL and a 2003 Caddy STS throughout my travels, but nothing brought back the thrill and excitement of having a SVX as a daily driver.
Until now.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to find a 92 Teal SVX in Decatur, Georgia at Royal Subaru and Izuzu of Decatur. Any Atlanta SVXi owners might know of the place, George that works there in the service department found it and checked it out for me. The motor and transmission seems to be strong, yet the rack and pinion system might be shot. It has the leather and suede interior, but is missing the rear spoiler. I got my other SVX from the junkyard and it is now serving it's time as a parts car, especially with the brand new radiator and alternator in that.
Anyway, the new car's interior is in pristine shape, the body has a bit of damage, the AC runs cold, the heat runs hot, it has about 135k miles on it (mostly highway, but no real way to confirm that), all and all, a great buy at only $3,000. I'll have pictures of her soon. I was hoping maybe some of you SVX owners in Georgia might know of this car. It was originally titled in Jacksonville, FL, one owner (I believe), haven't run a CarFax.
Anyway, Xodi is riding again. Feels good to be back.
