I tried to take it apart once. Getting the bolts out is the easy bit. According to the service manual you have to heat up the bearing box with a big soldering iron until it expands enough that the shaft can be removed.

I gave up after realising that my soldering iron was too small and not hot enough.

Of course, when you heat it again to put it back together, that might damage your new paintwork
